About the category Pitcher Gloves
Find a baseball or softball pitcher's glove that fits comfortably and suits your work on the mound. Start with the sport and throwing hand, then compare the web, size and hand fit. Pitcher's gloves commonly use a closed web to help conceal the grip on the ball before delivery.
Choose the correct hand
- Right Hand Throw (RHT): for players who throw right-handed and wear the glove on the left hand.
- Left Hand Throw (LHT): for players who throw left-handed and wear the glove on the right hand.
Use your throwing hand to make the choice, regardless of your batting side. Confirm the selected hand option in the product description and do not rely on the image alone.
Compare web, size and hand fit
Look at the web design and how it covers the ball when you hold your grip inside the glove. Check the model's size guide and whether it is intended for baseball or softball. Listed length is only one part of the fit: the hand opening and ability to open and close the glove comfortably also matter.
If you already have a pitching glove, compare its pocket and feel with the new model. For younger pitchers, avoid selecting a larger size solely to allow for growth. Choose a glove the player can manage during pitching and when fielding the ball.
Check your competition's color rules
Pitchers can face specific restrictions on glove colors or distracting details. Check the current rules for your competition, including the selected colorway and lacing, before ordering. A glove marketed for pitchers is not automatically approved in every league.
Materials, break-in and care
Compare the stated leather or synthetic construction and the manufacturer's break-in guidance. Allow preparation time for firmer models and inspect the web and laces regularly. Follow the model's cleaning and conditioning instructions.
For other fielding roles, explore infield gloves or the full baseball and softball glove range. Keep your chosen model in good condition with suitable glove care and accessories.
